The 2016 Kingston City Classic has come to a close. Thanks to all who attended and helped to make this a fantastic success. We ended up with 29 people contesting across 10 divisions. The largest division by far was Novice which is exactly what we were aiming for.
Much thanks to many people.
First of all, I have to thank the wife and family for putting up with another tournament and helping out so much with everything. Merrilee Brunsting helped make the additional sponsor signs and Tee Markers and Danielle helped make snacks, run the BBQ and convinced about a half a dozen players to give it a go. This leads on to thanks the Outright Plumbing crew and the Rayner family for all their help and support. Hope to see you on a course again soon.
It was great to have the City of Kingston Mayor, Cr Tamsin Bearsley, there in the morning to officially open the event. I think we will get some great support from her if we keep up the momentum. I will send her a letter of thanks and we will b meeting with her.
Big Shout out to Racim, Allen and Darren who helped design, set up and break down the course. We were very happy with the final layout in general but would like to know what you thought about it as we will be doing it again next year. Thanks to Darren’s wife Amy who was the media coordinator for the event. Also thanks to Gail Lynch for the work that she did to help promote and run the tournament.
Thanks to Simon Feasey and RPM Discs for donating some discs for prizes.
Thanks JAB Project Design & Management for putting up $75 for an ace on the Island hole which unfortunately did not go off.
Thanks to Ray White Mordialloc for providing the event sign and Parks Victoria for allowing the event to be held at Braeside Park.
I am tired and may have forgotten some important people. If I have, we certainly did appreciate all you did for the tournament.
The unofficial results have been posted and can be found here.
Congrats to Racim for his first win as an Open player and Jarrath for coming in a close second. I was very happy to be playing in the top card in the last round for the first time.

Unfortunately, we were not able to hold the Anne Marie Bottomly event at this time. The interest was not high and it would have been just too much after a very long day. It will be rescheduled for another time soon. Probably at Ruffey Lake on Oct 21 at night.
