Summer Cup Series 2024-25
MDGC is excited to announce the return of the Summer Cup Series for 2024/25. Following the very positive feedback from last year’s event – and building on the tradition started by David Heath with the original Summer Cup in 2019/20 – we are planning more of the same: a series of one-day, two-round, low-cost low-frills PDGA tournaments across December and January. Like last year, we will host them at our regular courses around Melbourne, perhaps with a few extra twists thrown in along the way. Your best events will count towards overall series standings, and we will crown the Summer champions at the end of the series.
Alex Evans & Aaron Ponnudurai are managing the series, but we are looking for club members to put up their hands to help run events. If you have never hosted an event before, then this is the best introduction you can ask for. We will keep it simple, there will be an experienced Tournament Director working with you to show you the ropes, and the club will handle registration and pay PDGA fees etc. If you might be interested, or just want to know more, then drop up a note at summercupseries@melbournediscgolf.com
Summer Cup Series Event Dates and Registration
We don’t have all event dates confirmed yet, and this is where you come in – the best way to make sure there is an event at your local / favourite course is to put up your hand to run one. Let us know where and when you want to see one and we’ll try to make it happen.

The overall standings are based on the sum of your best 3 events as measured by the PDGA event rating. (TBC – may vary depending on the number of events we run).
Event Prizes and End Of Season Prizes
Prizes for individual events, if any, will be small and simple. And there will be no Pro payouts either (entry fees will be the same for Pros and Ams). There will be likely be some end of season prizes for divisions with enough players.
And we will run an Ace Pot (included with entry fee). Anything left in the pot will be added to the prize pool at the end of the series.
