Our February Social Day at Royal Park was an absolute smash, drawing 32 people, with roughly 12 of those being completely new to the sport. It’s a testament to having a course in such a central location which can draw people who don’t live close to any of the current Melbourne courses.
We started the day at roughly 9:15am with a skills clinic for our new players. Melbourne Disc Golf Club board member Oscar Fehlberg led the large group of first timers through the basic rules and techniques of disc golf and then the groups were ready to take on the course!
There were some hot scores on the day, none better than Chris Ronalds who shot 11 under par! He took home the prize for best raw score.
Our Closest to the Basket hole was hole #2 and Matthew Farina absolutely laced the line to win the CTB prize for the day.
Saving the best for last, the Spirit of the Day award went to Madura Rajkumar. It was her first time giving disc golf a try, and she improved by 10 strokes in the second round of 9!

Thanks to everyone for coming out and let’s make sure we continue to take advantage of this awesome temporary course while we can. Make sure you use the QR code to check-in when you play the course so we can tell Council how popular this course is!
